Option Trendlines

Option contracts whose premium is sitting on a trendline, on the 15-minute to daily charts: F&O stocks, indices and MCX.

Examples taken from the live lists on 2 Oct 2026. Prices and rows change every hour; the steps do not.

What this tab finds

Option Trendlines asks the Trendline Support question of an option's own price. A trendline is a straight line through at least two (here, by default, three) turning points of a chart. Instead of drawing it on the stock, this tab draws it on the premium - the price you pay for the option - and lists every contract whose premium is sitting on such a line right now.

One row is one contract, not one stock. RELIANCE alone has calls and puts at three strikes over two expiries, so a stock can appear on several rows at once. The lines are fitted on five charts of the premium: 15 min, 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour and Daily. There is no weekly or monthly chart, because a monthly contract lives about three months and trades actively for only the last one or two.

  • Support: a line under the premium that it has bounced from before.
  • Resistance: a line over the premium that has turned it down before.
  • Call (CE): an option that gains when the underlying rises. Put (PE): one that gains when the underlying falls.
  • Premium: the option's last traded price. Every line on this tab is drawn on it.

Keep in mind. A premium also loses a little value every day as expiry comes closer (time decay). That slow slide is part of every falling line on this tab - a falling resistance on a premium is partly the calendar, not only sellers.

Example

A call on a rising support, 2 Oct 2026 (data as of the 1 Oct close)

AXISBANK 1,220 CE (27 Oct expiry) closed at a premium of 34.35 with a rising 15-minute support at 34.34 under it - 5 touches, 0.02% away. AXISBANK itself closed at 1,223.20, so this strike was just in the money.

Which contracts are scanned, and how fresh they are

Not every option is scanned - only the strikes that hold most of the trading, near the underlying's price. The Market control picks one of three groups; each has its own file and its own clock.

MarketWhat is scannedExpiriesRefreshed
Stocks (F&O stocks)Each F&O stock's strike nearest its price, plus one strike either side - calls and putsThe current month and the next month (27 Oct and 23 Nov on 1 Oct 2026)Hourly during the session, and again at the close
IndicesNIFTY, BANKNIFTY and SENSEX: the nearest strike and five either side. FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, NIFTYNXT50 and BANKEX: three either sideThe two nearest expiries of each - for NIFTY and SENSEX that is this week's and next week'sEvery 15 minutes from 9:15 to 3:30, plus the hourly and closing runs
MCXCrude oil, natural gas, gold, silver, copper, zinc and their mini contracts: the nearest strike and three either side, priced against that month's futureTwo expiries eachIn the evening futures runs and a run just after midnight

The line over the table ends with "as of" and the time of the newest candle in the file. Check it before you act: if the engine had no broker session, nothing refreshes and the last file stays.

Tip. The sidebar's universe is a list of stocks, so it narrows the Stocks market and nothing else. If a stock option you expect is missing, pick a wider universe - Nifty F&O holds every F&O stock.

Example

What the files held on 2 Oct 2026

Stocks: 1,562 contracts over the 27 Oct and 23 Nov expiries, data as of 1 Oct 15:30. Indices: 169 contracts, including NIFTY's 6 Oct and 13 Oct weeklies and SENSEX's 8 Oct weekly. MCX: 165 contracts, data as of 1 Oct 23:15.

Reading a row

Every column header can be clicked to sort by it; click again to flip the order. The default order is TFs, most first, then the most-touched line, then the nearest.

ColumnWhat it shows
OptionThe contract as a trader says it - underlying, strike, CE or PE - with a CALL or PUT badge. Click it to open the premium's chart.
UnderlyingThe price of what the option is on (the stock, the index, or for MCX that month's future) when the option was last read.
StrikeHow far the strike is from the underlying, in words: ATM (within 0.25%), or a per cent with ITM (in the money - it already has value if exercised) or OTM (out of the money - the underlying must move past the strike for it to pay).
ExpiryThe day the contract ends, e.g. 27 Oct.
PremiumThe option's last traded price - what the lines are drawn on.
ChgThe premium's change against the previous session's close. Premiums often move 20-80% in a day; this is normal for options.
At supportChips for each timeframe on which the premium is sitting on a support line: 15m, 1H, 2H, 4H, 1D. A dashed, faded chip is a retest - a line the premium already closed through and has come back to.
Sup shapeWhich way the nearest support runs - Rising, Floor (flat) or Falling - and on which chart (the small 15m / 1H... after it). Dashed underline means it is a retest line.
At resistanceThe same chips for resistance lines over the premium.
Res shapeWhich way the nearest resistance runs - Rising, Ceiling (flat) or Falling - and on which chart.
PatternWhat the support and resistance make together on one chart: Ascending triangle, Descending triangle, Coil, Rising channel, Falling channel, Range or Broadening, with the chart named. A dash when no one chart has both.
TFsHow many of the five timeframes have a line the premium is on, at your settings.
TouchesTouches on the best line found.
DistThe premium's distance from its nearest line, in per cent. Positive: the premium is above the line. Negative: below it.
OIOpen interest: positions still open, as the exchange reports it - shares for NSE and BSE options, lots for MCX. Hover for the count in lots. More OI usually means an easier exit.
VolumeTraded in the contract in its last session - shares for NSE and BSE, lots for MCX.

Example

One row, read left to right (2 Oct 2026, data as of 1 Oct close)

RELIANCE 1,160 PE · PUT. Underlying 1,170.10. Strike 0.9% OTM. Expiry 27 Oct. Premium 23.30, Chg +34.68%. At resistance: 15m (dashed - a retest), 1H, 2H. Res shape: Rising 15m, dashed. TFs 3, Touches 4, Dist +2.18%. In words: the put's premium is up against rising resistance lines on the 1-hour and 2-hour charts (4 touches each), and has poked back above a broken 15-minute line.

The controls

Every control is saved in the page address, so a narrowed view can be bookmarked, shared, or kept with Save scan.

ControlChoicesWhat it does
MarketStocks · Indices · MCXWhich group of options to show. Picking Indices or Commodities in the header's universe picker also switches this.
WithinTouching (default) · 2% · 5% · 10% · 20%How close the premium must be to a line to count as on it. Touching is the engine's own test: within about a third of a normal candle's range (0.35 ATR). The percent steps are wide because a premium swings 10-30% a day.
Min touches×2 · ×3 (default) · ×4 · ×5 · ×6Turning points that must sit on the line. Two points make any line, so three is the first count that is evidence.
On at least1 timeframe ... 5 timeframesHow many of the five charts must agree.
TimeframeAny timeframe · 15 min · 1 hour · 2 hour · 4 hour · DailyAny shows a contract on whichever charts it is on; picking one narrows to that chart, and the popup opens on it.
LineAny · Support · Resistance, then Any state · Intact · Testing · RetestThe side of the line, and its state. Intact: no candle has closed through it. Testing: one just did. Retest: broken, and the premium has come back to it.

ExpiryTick any mix; nothing ticked is All expiriesShown when the file holds more than one expiry.

Tip. If the table is empty, the page tells you what to loosen: widen Within, drop to ×2 touches, allow retests, or clear the column filters.

Example

Calls on support only

Type = Calls (CE) and Line = Support. On 2 Oct 2026 this list included AXISBANK 1,220 CE (rising 15-minute support, 5 touches) and LAURUSLABS 2,000 CE (rising daily support, 4 touches).

Column filters (the row under the headers)

Under eight of the headers - At support, Sup shape, At resistance, Res shape, Pattern, TFs, Touches and Dist - sits a filter box, the same one Trendline Support uses. Timeframe and shape boxes take several picks at once; number boxes take one cut.

  • At support / At resistance: pick 1D to keep contracts with a daily line; pick several to keep any of them; Not on any keeps contracts with no line on that side.
  • Sup shape / Res shape: Rising, Floor or Falling (Ceiling for resistance).
  • Pattern: one of the seven named figures.
  • TFs: 2 or more ... 5 or more, or Exactly 1.
  • Touches: 3 or more ... 6 or more.
  • Dist: Within 0.25%, Within 0.5%, Within 1%, Above the line, Below the line.

The line over the table counts how many column filters are on. Clear them all in one go from the empty-table message, or open each box and empty it.

Example

Daily-chart supports only

At support = 1D keeps contracts whose premium sits on a daily support line. On 2 Oct 2026 LAURUSLABS 2,000 CE (27 Oct) was one: a 4-touch rising daily support at 57.21 under a premium of 63.25.

Open it on the site →

Timeframes and 'touching' on a premium

The five charts are 15 min, 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour and Daily. Daily candles are built from the contract's own 15-minute bars. Because option contracts are young, a chart needs less history here than on a stock: about 60 candles on 15 min, 40 on 1 hour, 30 on 2 hour and 15 on 4 hour and daily. A new contract may have no daily or 4-hour lines yet.

Touching is measured in the chart's own average range (ATR), not in per cent. On a premium that range is large, so a line the engine calls touching can be several per cent away - that is why Within offers 2% to 20% rather than the small steps on Trendline Support.

Example

Touching, though 10% away

LAURUSLABS 2,000 CE on 2 Oct 2026: premium 63.25, rising daily support at 57.21 - 10.55% below, yet only 0.33 ATR, so it counts as touching. On a daily chart of a premium, 10% is a third of one candle.

Open it on the site →

Keep in mind. A Dist of -4.80% on a premium is not the same as -4.80% on a stock. Read Dist together with the chart: the popup draws the line, so you can see whether it is one candle's wobble away.

The option chart (click a contract)

Clicking a contract opens the premium's own candle chart - not the stock's. It opens on the Timeframe you picked, or else on the chart carrying the row's nearest line. It uses the site's one chart, so most of the chart guide applies; the differences are listed here.

  • Fewer speeds: the strip offers only the five option timeframes (15 min to Daily). There is no weekly or monthly chart of a premium.
  • No stock layers: the Layers panel has no On the chart group - no averages, levels, major zones, 52-week marks, coils or round numbers. Those describe a stock's price and mean nothing on a premium. It keeps Trendlines from, limited to the five option timeframes.
  • The line the row named is drawn even when it is a retest, which the default Current view would hide.
  • The title counts the lines drawn at your touch count, e.g. "3 lines at ×3+". Under the chart: how many candles, since when, and as of when.
  • TradingView: the button links out when the contract has a TradingView name; Copy lines for TradingView copies a small script with this chart's lines.
  1. Click the contract name in the Option column.
  2. Use the Lines switch to choose Current, + Retests or All.
  3. Step through 15 min ... Daily on the strip to see each chart's own lines.
  4. Open Layers and tick a slower timeframe under Trendlines from to lay its lines on this chart.

Example

The daily line on the 1-hour chart

LAURUSLABS 2,000 CE (2 Oct 2026): open it, switch to 1 hour, then in Layers tick Daily under Trendlines from. The 4-touch rising daily support (57.21) is drawn across the hourly candles, so you can see how the premium traded around it hour by hour. The same works for any slower chart - see the chart guide's section on lines from other timeframes.

Line states and patterns

TermMeaning on this tab
IntactNo candle has closed through the line. A solid chip.
TestingA candle has just closed through it; not yet confirmed broken.
RetestBroken earlier, and the premium has come back to it - old support acting as resistance, or the reverse. A dashed, faded chip.
BrokenClosed through and not revisited. Never listed on this tab.
Floor / CeilingA flat support / a flat resistance: the same premium holding or rejecting again and again.
Ascending triangleRising support into a flat ceiling, on one chart.
Descending triangleFalling resistance onto a flat floor.
CoilRising support and falling resistance closing in. It says a move may be near, not which way.
RangeA flat floor and a flat ceiling: a box.

Example

A retest, 2 Oct 2026

NIFTY 22,600 PE (6 Oct weekly): At resistance 1H and 2H, both dashed - flat ceilings the premium had already closed above (premium 211.95, about 3.5% over them after a +78.86% day). These are old resistance lines now underneath, not lines holding the premium down.

Scenarios, step by step

Each scenario uses real rows from 2 Oct 2026 (a market holiday; the files held data as of the 1 Oct close). Numbers will have moved by the time you read this.

1. A call on rising support (the bullish read on a premium).

  1. Set Type to Calls (CE) and Line to Support.
  2. Open the Sup shape filter and pick Rising.
  3. Sort by Touches to put the best-tested lines first.
  4. Click a contract and check the line on its own timeframe; then step one speed slower.

Example

AXISBANK 1,220 CE

Premium 34.35 on a rising 15-minute support at 34.34: 5 touches, Dist +0.02%. Underlying 1,223.20, strike 0.3% ITM, 27 Oct expiry, OI 30,13,750 shares. A support on the 15-minute chart alone is the weakest kind here - TFs is 1.

Open it on the site →

2. A put pressing on resistance.

  1. Set Type to Puts (PE) and Line to Resistance.
  2. Set On at least to 2 timeframes, so one chart alone is not enough.
  3. Read the At resistance chips: solid chips are intact lines; dashed ones are retests.

Example

RELIANCE 1,160 PE

Premium 23.30 (+34.68% on the day) under rising resistance on 1H (24.15, 4 touches) and 2H (24.69, 4 touches), with a 15-minute retest. RELIANCE closed at 1,170.10, so the 1,160 put was 0.9% OTM. A put's premium meeting resistance is the premium meeting sellers, not a call on RELIANCE itself.

Open it on the site →

3. Index options.

  1. Set Market to Indices.
  2. Use Expiry to tick only the monthly or only next week's contracts.
  3. Remember the index file refreshes every 15 minutes in the session; check the as-of time in the summary line.

Example

BANKNIFTY 55,000 PE (23 Nov)

At support on 1H and 2H, both Rising: 5 and 4 touches, premium 1,177.55, Dist +3.91% above the 2-hour line. BANKNIFTY was at 54,450.80, so the put was 1.0% ITM.

Open it on the site →

4. Expiry-week caution.

  1. With Market on Indices, tick only the nearest expiry under Expiry.
  2. Compare Chg across the rows: in expiry week premiums can halve or nearly double in a session.
  3. Treat 15-minute and 1-hour lines here as short-lived; a contract days from expiry has little history and fast time decay.

Example

NIFTY 6 Oct weekly, two sessions before expiry

On the 1 Oct close the NIFTY 22,600 PE was +78.86% (premium 211.95) and the 22,600 CE was -58.73% (premium 65.95). The CE sat on a falling 15-minute support that was a retest. Lines on contracts this close to expiry are mostly time decay and one day's move.

Open it on the site →

5. One stock's options only.

  1. Click the stock in the left pane (or add ?un= and the symbol to the address).
  2. The table narrows to that stock's contracts; the summary line says "AXISBANK only" with a show every option link.
  3. If nothing shows, either the stock is not in F&O or none of its contracts is on a line - widen Within or drop to ×2.

Example

AXISBANK's contracts

On 2 Oct 2026 the 1,220 CE showed with a rising 15-minute support (5 touches).

Open it on the site →

6. A daily line on a premium.

  1. Set Timeframe to Daily.
  2. Read Dist with care: on a daily premium chart, touching can be 10% away.
  3. Open the contract, then lay the daily line on the 1-hour chart through Layers > Trendlines from.

Example

LAURUSLABS 2,000 CE (27 Oct)

Premium 63.25 on a rising daily support at 57.21 (4 touches, 10.55% below, 0.33 ATR). The same contract also had a falling 2-hour resistance at 66.44 (5 touches) above it.

What this tab does not tell you

  • It does not say the premium will bounce or break. A line is where the premium turned before; the tab finds it, it does not forecast it.
  • It does not show option Greeks, implied volatility or the bid-ask spread. Check the spread in your broker before trading a contract with low OI or volume.
  • It scans only the strikes near the money and two expiries. A far strike you trade may not be here at all.
  • Prices are as of the last refresh shown in the summary line, not live ticks.
  • Time decay is inside every line. A falling line on a premium can be the calendar alone.
  • A support on a call and a resistance on the matching put are often the same move of the underlying seen twice; they are not two independent signals.

Keep in mind. Options can lose most of their value quickly, especially near expiry. Nothing on this tab is a recommendation to buy or sell any contract.
